Second Bloom

Migrant Women 40+ as Community Wellbeing Leaders in Europe

MediAlena roleProject Coordinator

Turning lived experience into community leadership.

Migrant women 40+ shaping wellbeing in their communities.

About the project

Supporting migrant women 40+ as community wellbeing leaders.

Second Bloom is an Erasmus+ adult education project supporting migrant women aged 40+ in strengthening confidence, community participation and their capacity to contribute to wellbeing in their local communities.

The project brings together organisations from Finland, Greece and Denmark to co-create learning activities, pilot a training approach and develop practical resources that can remain useful beyond the project period.

Context

Why Second Bloom?

Migrant women over 40 bring lived experience, knowledge, resilience and strong community ties. Yet overlapping factors — migration, age, limited visibility, and unequal access to learning and participation opportunities — can mean these strengths go unrecognised.

Second Bloom starts from what women already bring. It creates space for them to grow as leaders and to contribute actively to wellbeing in their communities.
